Neon Bottomless
Neon Bottomless (#0DD8E7) is a true cyan with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Etymology
Greek néon, new — element-name (atomic-number 10), discovered by William Ramsay in 1898. As a color modifier, neon implies a saturated-and-electric-glow quality, the bright color of Las-Vegas-and-Times-Square neon-marquee gas-discharge-tube emission. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to electric and fluorescent in usage.
A descriptor for water deep enough that the bottom isn't visible from above — particularly cenote sinkholes, deep ocean trenches, and Caribbean blue holes. Bottomless color refers to the Great Blue Hole of Belize seen from above: a saturated, slightly cool very deep blue with the optical depth of unfathomably deep water.
