Velvety Uvarovite (#096A03) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. An adjectival form of velvet, used since the eighteenth century for colors that read as if they had the matte light-absorbing quality of velvet. A chromium-rich green garnet — mined principally in the Russian Urals, Finland, and Quebec. Named for Russian Count Sergei Semenovich Uvarov. The color refers to drusy uvarovite crystals on chromite matrix: a saturated, slightly cool deep emerald-green with the gem's signature internal fire.
