Resounding Marakat (#06A002) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Etymology
Latin resonāre, to echo back — present-participle of resound. As a color modifier, resounding implies a saturated-and-echoing-and-imposing quality where the hue reverberates visually like a cathedral-bell ring. The Sanskrit word for emerald — used in Vedic and Mughal jewelry vocabulary for the saturated deep green of fine emeralds. Marakat gave the Greek smaragdus and ultimately English emerald. The color refers to a faceted Mughal-period Colombian emerald: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the gem's signature internal life.
