Resilient Heki
Resilient Heki (#046AF2) is a true azure with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (214°, 97%, 48%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin resiliēns, springing-back — present-participle of resilīre. As a color modifier, resilient implies a saturated-and-recovering-and-flexible quality where the hue maintains its strength under visual pressure. Sits at the bold-and-resilient end of the grid, parallel to tough and hardy in usage.
Japanese heki (碧) — a classical Sino-Japanese character spanning jade-green and deep-blue in pre-modern color vocabulary. Heki-iro names the saturated blue of polished imperial-grade nephrite. The color refers to a polished Japanese nephrite yu disc: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the satin finish of fine jade.
