Open Chrysocolla (#027E69) is a deep teal with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Old English open, unobstructed — used as a color modifier since the eighteenth century for hues that read as airy or uncrowded. The color refers to a polished chrysocolla cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the matte finish of secondary copper mineral. Cooler than malachite.
