Stately Sequoia
Stately Sequoia (#009A09) is a deep green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (124°, 100%, 30%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. An adjectival form of state, condition of dignity. Used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for the deep saturated jewel tones of formal ceremony — the deep blue of a robes-of-state, the deep red of a state-banquet velvet. Sequoiadendron giganteum, the giant sequoia of the Sierra Nevada — the largest living tree species on Earth by volume. Sequoia color refers to mature sequoia needle foliage: a deep, slightly cool dark green with the matte finish of scale-leaf conifer foliage.
