Cimmerian Niloo
Cimmerian Niloo (#001241) is a deep azure with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (223°, 100%, 13%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
From the Cimmerians of Homer's Odyssey — a legendary people who dwelled at the western edge of the world in perpetual darkness. As a color modifier, cimmerian implies a literary-poetic register for absolute darkness without sunlight. The Persian word for indigo plant — borrowed from Sanskrit nīla (dark blue). Niloo names the plant Indigofera tinctoria in Persian and the saturated deep blue dye it produces. The color refers to a freshly niloo-dyed Persian carpet: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the matte finish of plant-and-mordant dye.
